What area of NJ are you looking at? I live in Monmouth County whose parks department is wonderful and there are lots of things available to do through it. - The Doorbrook Sprayground is wonderful - its a water/sprinkler park which my two young kids love! You can log onto monmouthcountyparks.com to find out more.

This year, we are keeping our vacation $$$ here in the USA. We usually travel to Europe but with the weak dollar....ain't gonna happen.
Plus we just bought a house that needs a lot of work so that takes a lot of time.
We decided to book long weekend trips. We are going to Wildwood in June, Lancaster County, PA (Amish country) in July, Mystic, CT in August, Washington DC in September, and New York City in October.

All drivable!

Good Luck!

Shanny

Talking Need more info

Hi there-
I agree- the Sprinkler Park is great !!
There is so much to do in NJ.
  1. But what ages are we talking about?

  2. What area of NJ are you looking for activities in?
    • There's whitewater rafting & canoeing but I doubt a 2 yr old would enjoy that (plus safety concerns)
    • North Jersey has Land of Make believe, etc
    • Central Jersey has Sprinkler park & Great Adventure/water park/safari, Animal Kingdom Zoo
    • South Jersey has all the shore towns & boardwalks, rides, trolley cars, etc.
I know I'm missing much more than is listed here. Check out the other threads on things to do in NJ. There are several NJ websites/tourism that you may want to check out too. Good luck & Enjoy the beautiful weather

Jenkinson's Aquarium and boardwalk rides in Point Pleasant.

The Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange - Small but good for a 2 1/2 yo.

Fruit/Vegetable picking...there are a number of farms that have different crops and events throughout the year. Terhune Orchard in Princeton and Johnson's Corner Farm in Medford are two that my daughter has been to. We have picked blueberries, corn and pumpkins. We will try strawberries this year.
