Default englewood or livingston

I have heard of both these new jersey communties as being both great places to live. They are both as I know very suburban, but that doesn't really matter, in a state like New Jersey where everything is densely populated (Mainly essex and bergen counties) it hardly feels suburban. Anyway I was wondering if I could get an opinion for my friend who is trying to pick between the two locations. Livingston or Englewood? Please share your thoughts on which place is better to live or are they both equally good.

Both are nice, both are expensive...Livingston can be extremely expensive. Keep in mind the taxes too (and car insurance in Essex county is higher I believe)

If your friend has kids and wants really good schools, Livingston is a better choice. Englewood schools are good too, but Livington is much better.

I would choose Livingston over Englewood mainly due to the crime rate. My grandmother lives in Englewood and there are way too many areas that just aren't safe. My friend teachs there too and doesn't have very positive things to say. Good luck with your choice.
