Go down to Bogan's in Brielle (like I will be come early July) and go night blues fishing. If you'd rather catch edible fish, go to the same place and go on a half day fluke fishing trip. Stripers in May. Or whiting/ling in the winter.

I might miss this aspect of NJ more than any other.

I remember 4 summers ago, I went night blue's fishing at Bogans, on the Jamaica II. It was a summer Friday night. Let me tell you something: forget about the beer, people were bringing on Grey Goose vodka, Wild Turkey, a few of the ladies had some chardonnay. Tequila was another popular libation of choice. I stuck with a few beers and sandwiches. Anyway, early on into the ride, the seas started to get choppy. I think many of you who have boarded these boats know what happened next. Let's just say the blues had a lot of chum luring them to the mast. I would say that 2 out of every 3 people were TKO'ed by the end of that trip. However, the spoils became mine, because at the end, I won the pool. It was the only time in my fishing life I've ever done this. And it was a really healthy take: $270. Ironically, it was one of only two fish I caught that evening. I was with my dad that evening (last time we ever fished together) and he caught at least a dozen. The people we were with filled up their coolers with fillets. Usually, when it comes to blues fishing and quantity, I do much better than two fish, but I got the big one.

The Cape May Zoo and The Sightseer, a dolphin-watching boat that tours off the coast of Wildwood, not to mention all the other beach and boardwalk activities in Cape May, Wildwood, and other shore towns!
