Which town in N. Jersey is for us?
We are selling our house in East Brunswick, NJ and would love to move closer to DH's job in midtown (he works in Empire State Bldg). We have two young children so schools are VERY important - public schools. Also, our budget is around the 500k range (hopefully not much higher than that). Our taxes in East Brunswick were 10k, so we don't want to spend more than that.
Which towns would you recommend? We are looking for an easy (preferably train) commute to Manhattan, under an hour, door to door. We would LOVE a 4 bedroom, 2 bath with a yard.
Thanks!!!

You can look in Maplewood/SO you could find some houses in that price range; the taxes will be over $10,000 grand more than likely.

Lincoln Park has a train station in town (as well as a couple other close nearby). The school district is very good, and it is near 23, 46, 80, as well as not far from GSP. A sample home:

Brookdale section of Bloomfield -- your husband can walk to the bus stop at the corner or drive 5 mins. to the Midtown direct train station. Brookdale school is the best and is a hop, jump and skip away.
