Default Laurence Harbor: to buy or not to buy, thats the question..

I am looking at the cottage to buy in Laurence Harbor, but it was build in 1930 and probably full of asbestos, termite, lead etc.. The lot is too small to rebuild, so i have a dilemma if i even should consider..I spoke with the town engineer,he showed the map the house is not in a flood zone, which is good, but he said the insurance still will be high,as its prone to wind damage...too close to the bay.. I really like the area as i was told the commute to NYC is very easy there, and I am going to work in the city very soon. Any comments? Thanks in advance!!

if that area is what you can afford then it isn't the worst choice you could have made

The Harbor has been getting better over the years.

Just make sure you have someone check out the house since it is very old. While the price might be good upfront, might be very expensive to bring it up to code.
