There's no way of knowing if living in Brick caused this but in May of 2005 my sister's husband died of cancer of the esophagus. He was 29 years old and never smoked a day in his life. And 6 months after he died his mom was diagnosed with the same thing.

For more, you can search "cancer clusters in Toms River."
What about Pine Beach and Ocean Gate? I believe their drinking water is from different wells than Toms River.

Strange for sure....It enforces my belief some are born with the cancer cells and they remain dormant until triggered by an outside source.
Both of my nephews were born and raised in Toms River, one is 18 the other 16 and fine yet my cousins little boy died about 10 years ago at 11 from childhood leukemia

I had a friend who is probably about 37ish now who lived in Toms River growing up and had childhood leukemia. He told me that it was due to growing up in Toms River and that there was contamination. Now that is going back a long time, I wonder how it can still be an issue today. Wouldn't something have been done?

My mom just recently died of ovarian cancer.. just out of the blue stage 4... they gave her 6months she fought a brave hard battle for a year.. within the past several years.. 3 ouf 4 of my sister have all been told we have abnormal cells on our cervix.. mine more several i had my top of my cervix removed.. the other just hte cells.. the youngest one being only 22.. has tumors or cyst which keep growing and multipling.. but doctors tell her there is no need for removal.. i tell her get them out.. they cause her pain ... sad to say i have one younger sister who refuses to go to the doctor.. but for something that isnt hereditary its strange we all have it.. we grew up on cedar bridge rd in lakewood.. down the street from the clover apts.. which was built on a landfill and lake shanendoah which their soccer fields had contaminated soil at one point.. but they all say its just not possible.. and blah blah blah.. well if its not hereditary.. than how the hell do we all have the same thing.. how to we know we wont have the rare form of ovarian cancer my mom had.. she was 52... was contaminated near by soil... in our water.. no one bothered to check.. everyone points the finger else where... are the people that go to blue claws in danger cause of the water.. its right across the street from where we were.. and right down the road from teh co-gen plant and recycling center.. plus then again if you know anything about mtbe.. that comes from gas leaking in our ground water.. its everywhere.. i think except for one state.. that alone.. causes cancer and many other things.. but our gas companies are to cheap to put something else in their gas.. instead they polllute us all..
as far as toms river goes.. they say from the last i heard they are still uncovering barrels.. clean up process is not complete.. as a realtor during that time.. we use to get print outs stating it was fine.. but its up to a client to see houses near there.. every one always asked.. the only thing i could say was look online..
