Good doctors(family med and pediatricians) in Central NJ?
I really am in need of excellent care for doctors in NJ! Central preferably!
Any good pediatricians and family docs out there?? I have gone through 3 docs (South Jersey) as I am in Little Egg Harbor.. The quality of care here is compromised!! I don't care for it at all. We had some bad luck with them since moving here!
Let me know if you can recommend to me a decent doctor (family and pediatricians!). Thank you very much!

Probably a little further than you want to go but in Toms River I use Silverton Pediatrics. I am very pleased. I have also heard good things about Pediatric Associates here in Toms River.

Possibly too far North
I highly recommend Summit Medical Group. They are fantastic. We had several serious illnesses and they were superb. Might be too far north for you but I travel 3 hours to continue with them.

HR, Shanny and Ellwood-thanks for the replies..
Ellwood- wow, you sound like me lol. I would probably drive 3 hrs too if I find the right one!! I wil check into it...after the bad experiences Ive had in South Jersey I would rather go Central or North.
shann-Red bank isnt that far for me...I will check into it...I have 3 1/2 twins and they have been sick more times since we moved here from MA than one can imagine..
i have a PPO plan so I can move on to where ever!if I don't like the doc!
I had one in South Jersey...dont know if I can mention the group but wow, I asked where my daughter's results were after 5 days (they were basic tests as I used to work in med field for a long time)the woman was SOO RUDE she hung up on me when I asked why no one called me when (actually had them done at hospital and they were complete).....so she had no answer basically got po'd and hung up on me!!! I should report them to Soch hospital! they are affiliated with them. Unreal!!

pediatrician recommendations (and internist)
#1 Marc DeVito, MD, he is both a Pediatrician and Internist (i.e. he is board certified in BOTH specialties and can treat ANY age (of course)).
#2 see above.
#3 see #1.
This Pediatrician and Internist was practicing in East Windsor, NJ but moved to Little Silver, NJ, to start his own practice this summer (2008). We took our 3 children to the group practice Dr. DeVito was working for in East Windsor... and we refused to see ANYONE but him. Why?
Compassionate, loving, HIGHLY educated/intelligent, VERY informative, and ultimately we (my wife and I) also changed doctors so that ALL of us in the family could see Dr. DeVito.
Sadly, his practice is far from our home in East Windsor, BUT we have had NO second thoughts about traveling over to Little Silver to continue seeing him for LIFE.
We eagerly await the opening of his practice in August 2008. From what Dr. DeVito (or 'Dr. Marc' to our kids) explained to us, his office will be FULLY computerized and 'paperless.' That means, no more losing of vaccine records, no more waiting on the phone forEVER to get refills on prescriptions... it is all done electronically DIRECTLY to the pharmacy (which by the way is going to be legally required of physicians in the near future anyway!).
Because he is both a pediatrician AND an adult internist, he is trained to not only care for the healthiest of kids but ALSO for those children who have chronic medical problems and require someone to monitor them for many years (especially into adulthood, i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, cerebal palsy,etc.). Of course, most parents realize that the doctor of their kids (and their own dr. for that matter) should be intelligent (and most are well-trained), however, the hardest thing to find (it seems), is a doctor who TRULY cares and is ALWAYS willing (and even insists on) to explain what is wrong (and right) and what 'WE' will do about it to make it better.
I feel I could go on and on about Dr. DeVito, however, the only true way for any of you to appreciate what I have attempted to express/share is to meet him for yourself (and your WHOLE family)!
His office info:
Marc DeVito, MD
DeVito Internal Medicine and Pediatrics
180 White Road
Suite 205
Little Silver, NJ
732-741-3770 (opening Aug. 1, 2008)
Best wishes to every one and I promise you will be deeply grateful that you took the time to 'search' for the right doctor for you and/or your child/family.
