I've met him; he is a great person. If he feels like he can give the job 100%, why not?

Byrd is older. So is Stevens
Thurmond made it to 100 in the Senate.
I rather doubt any of the 4 is at 100% any more.
Id bet the truth is at least 1 of them is at 10%.
Its just reality. Political machines roll on and on regardless of party.

I met Frank L when I was a kid (17) in a music store, Jacks in Red Bank.
If he can do the job, why not?

Doesn't Care about the little people
The old goat was largely responsible for pushing through the tax on social security; never supports defense and the vets can't count on him. Just votes the party line 96% time.

He's also to old because he pulled this age crap on Fenwick back in 1982.
"In 1982, she ran for a U.S. Senate seat, but narrowly lost the general election to businessman Frank Lautenberg. Lautenberg had used Fenwick's age at the time- she was 72- as part of an attack upon her fitness to serve as a U.S. Senator. Many regarded Lautenberg's tactics as dirty politics"

He's a senile old liberal. He belongs in a nursing home, not the US Senate. Right next to Robert KKK Byrd.

The guy has been in since forever. What has he really accomplished for us in NJ?
It's comical how he used Millicent Fenwick's age against her and said that five debates wasn't enough back then.
Funny how the shoe's on the other foot now with him against Andrews. He's old and doesn't want multiple debates. Given is lack of memory, maybe he is too old.

I agree with you. McCain is just a kid compared to Lautenburg.
