Sussex County (NW NJ) offers a great quality of life. The most beautiful part of NJ imo.

of course it's NW jersey people, I'm talking about Warren & Sussex county, best area where you have bike & hiking trails, farms, hard working yet friendly folks, plenty of lakes, camping grounds, allegedly some white sheets wearing God fearing White Christians (don't let that scare you, they're just all warm & fuzzy inside) LOL but seriously in terms of quality of life NW jersey is the best kept secret that everyone knows about it but never venture into checking out for fear of the unknown.

South Jersey is not really my cup of tea unless I got to live in Haddonfield, Voorhees, or Moorestown. These towns I like!

why do you say that?

I definitely agree which is why I recently moved from North Jersey (Hillside-by Newark) to South Jersey (Westampton-Mt Holly area). The area I live is absolutely beautiful and peaceful..I'm near farms and an Indian Reservation yet I'm not so far away from civilization..I"m minutes away from 541 which has all the popular stores on that route like Target,Walmart and so much more...it's really a beautiful place to live and not expensive in terms of real estate like Central and Northern, Northwestern, NJ..

Actually is all relative to the individual, I'm sure there are people who love the urban setting, I was merely being sarcastic about "Newark" and everything that happens once it's mentioned around here. I, personally, prefer the rural area of Sussex & Warren county, It soothes the beast that I am.

It depends upon what you want. I lived in Jersey for about 25 years before escaping while I was still young enough to escape. If you want an urban area which doesn't require you to carry a gun to guard your life (which you won't be able to do anyway in uber-liberal New Jersey), choose North Jersey... the closer to NYC, the more urban it will be. If you want suburbia where everyone lives in a million-dollar mansion and drives a Mercedes or a BMW, choose central Jersey. If you want a more country-ish and backwoodsy feel, choose either south Jersey or northwest Jersey.
Be warned... Jersey is still Jersey. You can't polish a turd.
