Commute from Rumson to Grand Central Area
We are considering moving to the Rumson area and wondering how long it would take to get from the East 35th Street ferry stop to the Grand Central area (43rd and 5th). Any help/advice would be much appreciated!

Cab Expense
How much are cabs these days? It's been a long time since I've taken a cab in NYC.

You'll be lucky to even GET a cab during the rush hours....and it'll be more than $5.

It's hard to find taxicabs at rush hour all over, it all depends on WHEN in rush hour. And in the afternoon rush, there's an extra $1 charge. For my money, it's easier to walk that little bit.

so I guess the answer is that you've never done this. Like I noted originally it is about a 20 minute walk, and short cab ride. I haven't done this ride more than a dozen times myself, but my experiences are valid.
Thanks for your valued if limited input.

I think you both made your point and can be mature and not argue over it.
