Jury Duty Question
Hi all...I just got called for Jury Duty in Union County. Only thing is, I moved to Middlesex County three weeks ago. Anyone know what happens in this situation? Thanks!

Contact the court, tell them you moved, and they'll dismiss you. Phone# should be on the summons.

There is usually a box to check on the jury summons that states you do not live in the county you are being called by. Just check the box and return it.

Thanks all. Will I need proof of my new residence? I had changed it with the DMV already.

Hi,
That happened to me whilst living in California. I got a jury-duty summons from San Francisco county and I had just moved to Santa Clara county.
I sent it back to San Francisco with an explanation that I had moved to another county thus making me inelegible to serve.
I never heard back and as far as I know, there is no bench warrant for my arrest.

Yeah, good luck getting them to change your status in their system.
I moved from NJ to PA about 6 years ago, changed my driver's license, voter registration, everything. Then after 2 years in PA, my parents in NJ got a jury summons for me. I called the #, told them I had moved 2 years before, and they supposedly corrected it and took me off their list. Then about 2 years ago, my parents got ANOTHER jury summons for me. I called again, and again had them remove me from their list. Then this past spring, I received a sample ballot for the Primary election at my parents' house! Guess I could have voted in 2 states if I had really wanted to
