Camping beaches?
Hello all, I was wondering if there are any beaches in NJ that allow overnight camping. A couple friends and I are thinking of going to a beach for a night or two and just have fun.. thanks.

Doh! that's right... just keep the ocean on your left and you'll get there.

To clarify regarding Ocean Beach State Park, from their website:
Fishermen are allowed to stay in the park after the main gate is closed but only people who are actively engaged in fishing can remain on the beach between midnight and 4 A.M.
Hours: The main gate of Island Beach State Park typically opens at 8 A.M. and closes at dusk.
Also there is no alcoholic beverages permitted in the park.
For full information see: Visiting Island Beach State Park

Does it have to be an ocean beach campground? If not, we have tons of places out here in the western part of NJ. Swartzwood is a good choice... you can rent sailboats, paddle boats. Nice lake and camping grounds.

Yeah, I don't think camping is permitting at Island Beach State Park.

They do have beach camping at one of the Delaware state parks, but I don't think Jersey has any.
