Default Are these apartments in Jersey City in a decent area?

Downtown seems to be too expensive. These apartments look real nice and newly renovated, but what about the area?
Rentals in Jersey City, NJ

Not so great...anything west of Route 78 generally is not a good idea in my opinion.

The first one is in an area that is not so bad. I'd probably stay away from the rest. Downtown is much safer...you can probably find a place in Downtown that won't break the bank, but it wouldn't be as nice of a place.

Great job on the refurbishing of some of those grand old apartment buildings...but the areas are sketchy at best....I guess someone has to take the plunge and move to/back to these areas in order for them to gentrify..but having grown up there I would not live anywhere between JFK Blvd & Bergen Av
