The reason politician's support illegal immigrants and protect them is due to Campaign Contributions... Businesses who hire illegals - contribute money to the politician's election/re-election. Yep, that's the Hightstown. There used to be bumper stickers "everything's great at exit 8." Hightstown isn't a city; it's a borough. I guess we should be called "sanctuary borough." Google Mayor Patten in Hightstown and read how great he is. I believe he has two more years in office. I can't wait for him to go.

I've never been so unhappy and don't feel safe going for my evening walk unless my husband walks with me. Last week a 16-year old female was attacked by a man who forced her into bushes and attempted to sexually assault her. The police are looking for a Hispanic male in his early 20s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, who has a thin build, dark hair and dark eyes. The perpetrator was using a small BMX-style bicycle at the time.

There's a rental property down the street that hosts volley ball games every day. The yard is filled with up to eight cars, along with bicycles, and twenty to thirty latino men drinking alcohol and playing volley ball into the night. The more they drink, the louder they get. And, the property is a mess.

A neighbor on the other end of the street called the police to report a man urinating outside. The man had been sleeping in a car that was parked on a rental property. Unregistered vehicles were removed and towed away from this place, too. Numerous phone calls were made to the police because of loud music. The police were also called about cars filled with people sleeping in them. The police said there was nothing they could do.

A teacher told me there were a lot of undocumented children that are attending school and WE are paying for their education, not the kids' parents.

I wish sanctuary towns (including the one I live in) would be denied any assistance from the state. I also feel the people responsible for allowing a town to become a sanctuary for illegals should be held accountable for crimes committed against legal citizens.

I agree with njkate; if your area becomes flooded with illegals milking the system, your thoughts may change. Mine did.

UGH!!! I feel your pain..my town is not a sanctuary city nor is Morristown, which has many many illegals and that mayor is trying everything with in the law to rid the town of them..then there is Dover..that's a mix of legal & illegal.

Nicolem, sadly just by even reading the forum here our views on this subject seem to be in the minority. sadly one day people will wake up and wonder where the hell did my country go?? We are now a Banana Republic and the official language is Spanish....
Things like this are not tolerated in other nations..hell the Mexican police shoot at the Guatemalans trying to illegally cross into Mexico on their journey to the US.
We are between a rock and a hard place because of the land border with Mexico..now maybe if there was an ocean between us we wouldn't have the problem to the extent that it is........

My Mantra to solve 3 issues
1. Dig a moat along the US/Mexican border
2. Use this dirt to shore up the levees in New Orleans
3. Fill the moat with water and add all thos gators wrecking havoc in FL

This is an issue that is very volatile, please do debate me with an intelligent arguement or w/ valid facts, so far I have not seen one. My first reaction is one of incredilous disbelief at the blanketed statements been made, but my inner therapist tells me to count to 10 and to just let it go.
