St. Simeon Castle In Colonia, Nj!!!!!!!!!
Yersterday, my girlfriend and I were looking at new houses, and came across a McMasion in Woods Lane, between New Dover Road, and Colonia Boulevard, in Colonia, NJ, Wodbridge Township. This house, which is still under construction, is HUGE, HUGE, HUGE. We counted four stories, plus a basement. And it is about 6 houses put together, with separate roofs, each resembling a castle. What came to my mind is the St. Simeon Castle, in St. Simeon, California, which is referred to as "La Cuesta Encantada,", translation: "The Enchanted Road." If anyone has ever visited the St. Simeon Castle, in California, they will know what I am talking about. Mind you, this new house is in a one-family zoning. I shudder to think the taxes this house will pay. I will love to live there, so I can put all of my family in one end of the house, and I will live at the other end. Just kidding!!!! I have seen many beautiful houses in New Jersey, but this house has captivated me. It seems to be made of top-quality materials, and sits in about two or three acres of land!!!!!!!!!!! Oh! well, I can always dream...........

I know the house you are referring to. It looks like a hotel. I hate that house. How many families do you think they will cram into that house? And what do you think the traffic coming in and out of it will do to New Dover Road?

I haven't seen the house you are talking about but will definitely look for it.
I work close to that section though.
From what I have heard, alot of those houses are owned by a "specific" nationality. They are known for living with extentended family members- 2+ working male (maybe-2+ working females) and they all contribute to the household and that's how they afford these houses. This is what I hear from people who live in the area.
If you live in the area- you probably know what I'm talking about. Therefore, no just any couple can own these. It takes quite a salary and have more than 2 people earning makes that possible.
This situation wouldn't work for most people but they are very big on family and this is just how they seem to do things. Most people couldn't live with so many people in one house unless there was an apartment seperated each part of the family.

Have been to San Simeon, each part of the tour is charged separately (boo)!
Couldn't believe Hearst had entire rooms, plaster walls and all, shipped from European castles.
I have seen the wooded, gated, Colonia/Clark mansion on internet only, it was being sold several years ago.
I know the USPS letter carrier that delivers in that section, will enquire from him (i.e. why built, size of home, sorry cannot, divulge present owners names, status )
Will keep you posted

Apparently, per my source, there are several McMansions in that area.
The one you have mentioned, orig. belonged, or was built by a developer, ( go figure)

What about the one that you can see as you come around the curve on New Dover, that one they've been building for about two years.
And the pink one just before you go over the parkway, whats up with that one.

I have been inside this house you are speaking of and it is more beautiful inside than it is on the outside. It is not indians that own it. An older white gentleman and his wife live there and the inside looks like a french chateu! Unbelievable. Its like 12K square feet with an elevator and 13 bathrooms!
