House Closed Today
Hey, my NJ friends, my NJ house closed today! Yay -- no more double house payments! The amazing thing is I took a look at our original deed and we closed on that house on this same exact date in 1986. Isn't that strange?
Feel so much "lighter."

Fantastic! I am sure that is a huge relief for you. I never did the double house-payment thing myself, too scared. I always bought, sold, rented, bought.
Congratulations!

We actually did quite well. We listed our house in mid January. However, we dropped the price 3 times for a total of about 21%. But, considering what the housing market is like, and the fact that we owned the house for 22 years, we were able to absorb that.
We bought our house here in OK at the end of February, so we only made about 3 double payments. That was enough, though.
