For all the camping places mentioned in this thread, does anyone know about whether they are bear habitat? I actually booked a camping spot at High Point State park, but only found out that they have bears inside the park after I received their forms. The issue is we have young children, and with my son still asks for milk some time at night, it is hard to keep food in the car at all time etc.

If anyone knows, can you please advise? thanks!

I think most do... An option for you may be Jenny Jump Mountain - State Park as they have cabins you can rent : ) Plus land of make believ is just down the road and from what I hear, it's a great little water park for kids. I would look through the State Park websites and if you don't see anything there, call them directly and ask about the bears.

I love them. I actually think baby bears are the cutest of all baby animals...tigers run a close second. I don't worry about bears, I make sure our garbage is secure and don't leave the animals out after dark.
