What's going on? They ripped up the road 3 months ago and haven't been back since. When are they going to finish this thing. I haven't noticed any difference since day #1 of work and doubt they have done anything more since.

Although I bet they are being paid daily

I was driving on 21 today and thought the same thing. They were doing "work" a little further up and had one lane closed. the other side of 21 is the same way as well

Can we send the State of NJ our repair bills for the damage that is being done to our vehicles?

It's an absolute joke to take this road on a daily basis and see the State at its best. People who need jobs would love to be able to work and would do this paving job in a heartbeat.

Hopefully and I mean hopefully it will be done before the winter weather arrives and that's right around the corner everyone!

Still no more work done since they started (& stopped) in mid April. It's unbelievable.

I wonder if the poor road condition had anything to do with this mornings jackknifed tractor trailer this morning in Clifton.

Every now & then I take 21 on my way to clifton and it is absolutely ridicilous that they have left that road in its current state. I'm flabbergasted, appalled, stunned, shocked, amazed, ok I'm running out of adjectives.

We're having the opposite problem out here..they are repaving every county road..roads that hardly get any trafiic! Wasting money or spending their budget so that they make sure they get the same budget this year! Politics!

I agree this nonsense on Route 21 has to end. Unpaved road + snow = big problems.

Highest transportation budget in the country and this is what we get in return.

I noticed this too! I went down 21 on friday on my way to the airport and I saw the unpaved highway. If I'm not mistaken, it begins in Clifton (close to Passaic) and it doesn't stop until you reach the outskirts of Newark. That's a pretty big stretch of unpaved road.

Default 2010 & still nothing done

As I've said in a previous post, the State should be embarassed. It is now 2010, and the same 3 miles have not been paved to date on either side. In April, it will be 2 years of the same driving conditions. I'm sooo tired of having a hard time controlling my car on this road. Yeah, I can take another way, but guess what? River Road is closed to Local traffic only. It just keeps on getting better.
