I was driving on Route 22, North, trying to get to 22 East, when I made a turn by N. Michigan Ave., and there less than a 100 feet, from 22 North, I found My Cuban Rose. A fantastic caribbean food restaurant, with modest prices, and great food! Let me tell you what I had: White rice, black beans, a thinly -prepared steak with garlic sauce, and nicely cooked onions, a side portion of fried plantains, with garlic/lime sauce, and a side portion of fried little sweet bananas, that were DELICIOUS! My husband had garlic chicken with Congri, which is rice mixed with black beans, an Avocado salad, and a Guanabana shake that was perfect! All of this for $40. I ate so much that I had pains in my stomach, but ready to do it again! Address: 625 N. Michigan Avenue, Kenilworth, NJ. 908-687-2266. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays. The service was okay, considering that there was only one waiter, who was taking care of 7 tables, most of them with more than 2 people. Try it!

Sounds like a great place, being a latino I'm always a sucker for good latin food, by the description of the few items that you had to eat looks like a place worth the trip.

Good tip, I tend to stay away from most Spanish food outside my house. Since I cook it myself everyday and have become very picky from growing up with it.

Speaking of cooking it yourself, guess what my DW is cooking today? Sancocho and she's baking a dominican cake as well.

there is a plce in Montclair that you might like. Cuban Pete's--the food is so good, and the restaurant has outside seating.

There are two GREAT spanish restaurants in Dover - Morris County. One may be considered Rockaway? Spain Rincon on Mt. Hope Avenue is my favorite out of the two. Tiny little blue house on the corner of Mt. Hope and Richard Mine Rd. I definatley recommend it! Can't remember the name of the one in Dover...but if I do, I'll let you know.
