MINIs are great! Even the sport version gets pretty good mileage, especially with a manual. But the basic non-sport version with a manual gets crazy almost hybrid-like gas mileage (I think like 40 or more miles a gallon).

Seriously, great car and even better if you ever have to park on the street.

Default how do you feel about kid safe??

Hey - what do you think about the mini w/ kids?? I'd love to dump my SUV but my friends all act like the mini isn't safe - but I'm ready to go test drive one. Also how do you feel on the highway?? I think they are sooo cute!

The Mini is a safe vehicle. My concern would be access to the kids in such a small 2 door car. That little panel thig-a-magig wagon they make is very cool as well.

I like them but I am stuck with my SUV. paid for vehicle > car payments

I like the Mini's. Both of my children want that for their next car. They are very popular here as a second car, the first being a SUV. I have a Toyota rav which I get good mileage on.

If you want a great CUV that's pretty good on gas mileage... I highly recommend the Buick Enclave. I'm getting an average of 19 mpg and I only drive back roads...I believe highway is around 23 to 25. Not bad for a 7 seater and I must say... it's a nice looking and riding CUV!!!

Ok the front compartment is really enough room for driver and passenger, now back seat is a little tight if your dealing with big kids so no way. They have the clubman now so it has more room. I love the way it drives on the highway, it handles great and I have more than enough power, you really feel the road and its so fun!!!!!!! Honestly I have owned alot of vehicles and this is the funnest beside my really old datsun b210 that was along time ago. I drove all types and kinds hands down the most fun!! Safety I feel very safe!! Try it!

Haha good one Mary..tuna can
I call them a pregnant roller skate..lol

A friend who lives in Colorado has one..she loves it but has to change tires for winter time....until most down size I don't think I will....gas mileage or not I feel a bit more secure in my Gand Cherokee..might be a false sense of security but I wouldn't want to be hit by a suv in that Mini

Hit! You mean runover!!!!!! I must admit though..they sure are cute but not very practical for a family with kids. One step up from a Smart car in my opinion. Did you see the news last night...sales on scooters and mopeds are soaring! Damn I should have bought their stock!
