My favorite Counties are:

Hunterdon
Pros: Really nice scenery and enormous land parcels.
Cons: You have to drive ALOT to reach anything.

Passaic
Pros: I grew up in this county! It's very down-to-earth, especially compared to its neighbors. The taxes are lower too.
Cons: Passaic and Paterson need TLC. Some good changes are already occuring however.

My least favorite County:
Hudson
Pro: close to NYC
Cons: the population density there is not my cup of tea. "Stereotypical" NJ is in or around this area. The only decent towns there are Hoboken, Secaucus, and Kearny. And these are just ok.

Overall I like Central Jersey best (Hunterdon, Somerset, Monmonth, and Middlesex). I like this area alot because of the diverse neighborhoods and how the "wealth" seems to be more distributed in that part of the state. Most people seem to be middle to upper-middle class in that part of Jersey; be they White, African-American, Asian, or Hispanic.

Grass isn't always greener back on the other side though,
my friend moved from the Westfield area to Orlando years ago and doesn't really like it much better either.
Personally I like to keep moving, like I was able to when I saw I didn't really click with O-town either

senorspringfield is on a distinguished road
So basically union county has been my home for all 15 years of my existence. It really is not a bad areas, although it would be misleading to say that there isn't a "ghetto" part. I used to live in Elizabeth, which is over hyped up. There are some trashy areas but it also has some nice areas as well. Currently i reside in Springfield, which is a pretty quaint town, although it is starting to shift like Irvington did in the 70s. Please do not critique areas in which you are not familiar with.
