I did my Basic Training at Fort DIX NJ, as well as my AIT. I was there for over a year, and loved the area.. I visited Cherry Hill and Atlantic City a couple times, but I did not explore the state enough.. I was wondering where would be a good place to move to with a good racial mix, a decent cost of living, and so forth..

I was reading about Kevin Smith ( Silent Bob - Actor/Director ) and it said he lived and had a comic shop in Red Bank. I am a fan of his and did a few Google searches on the place, but don't feel I got enough info on the place. Would this be a place I should consider moving too?

I did like my time in New Jersey, and would love to explore the state more, and call her home... I am just unsure of where.. I know I want to be near the ocean.. I work in Security, mainly hotel/casino security.. and my wife is a Banquet Manager for a military base MWR facility. Any hope for us in New Jersey?

Well, if you plan on working in the casinos, Red Bank wouldn't be a great choice- it's about a 1.5 hour drive from AC.

Central NJ is not what most would consider racially diverse. Also, anyone here would tell you- making good money will be of top importance. Find employment before worrying about what section of the state to live in.

Casinos are in Atlantic City so you would be far.
As far as Red Bank- it is a very cute town and hip. It's a nice place to visit but very expensive in this area. You probably won't get alot for your money. It's like the Central Jersey version of Hoboken- if you've ever been there.

Hope that helps.
