It comes out to about $0.50 a minute on that ferry. $23 One Way, $40 Round Trip, and $625 for a 40 Trip Ticket Book. Seems a little pricey to me. I'm assuming you will be owning and maintaining a car too? That's...well...I can't even think about it! I pay just shy of $625 on my rent!
Anyway...Academy has a good bus out of the Ashbury Park Transportation Center that will get you to PABT in a jiffy. Take one earlier than you expect to need to be in the city for work, bring a book, wifi, and a laptop and enjoy the free time!
