I wouldn't move anywhere based just on their list. But, I do like the stats they compile and it is a helpful way to check out different areas and compare. I would hate to live in a nice place and have it appear as #1!

It didn't hurt Moorestown any. It only hurt the flock of investors who came to town from PA and NY to try to buy property based on the median prices listed in Money at the time. Needless to say, they went away pretty disappointed. I think it also shows the rest of the country that some parts of NJ have a very high quality of life.

Well, as long as they went away! I think I just picture a beautiful little town being flooded with people looking for cheap real estate.

It is so nice to see that there are people out there who love where they live and have so much respect for it. It's unfortunate more people don't feel the same way about their own towns or neighbors. Moorsetown is beautiful.

oh how right you are E !!!
Summer is here & all the crack heads will be doing their business as well as shooting & stabbing one another. Take the editors of Money Mag and put them in a mini van (full of open windows) and drive them down Somerset St. on a HOT August Saturday Night. If they want more, keep driving them into New Brunswick onto Remsen Ave. Betcha they crap their pants.

Oh no, Franklin doesn't own Somerset St....New Brunswick does...it's Rt 27 when you hit Franklin! (not really, that's just how we differentiate).
I was just as surprised as everyone else. Pure joke for the most part. There is a lot of beautiful and untouched farm land in Franklin...you just have to know where to go find it! And with all the building that keeps going on an on with the houses and the temples and the skate parks, soon there will be nothing left other than that one dairy farm on So. Middlebush.
It's pathetic and completely undeserved.

yah some of you are talking very ignortantly (jersey G, emanon). you can't possibly represent Frankling Park / Twnship by referencing that one area of Somerset st next to new brunswick. Many cities have their "areas" that need work / help, whatever you call it. Geez, if people thought like you they would never live in big cities like NYC or philly! (which are full of these "areas"). I assume Franklin did so well on this list for a few reasons: it's central location, it's proximity to highways and train stations, it's diverse housing choices and community, it's affordability, it's combination of urban and suburban, it's farmland, it's estates, it's nice townhome complexes, it's vast parkland.......
shall I continue?

I read the magazine yesterday. A bunch of BS. Parsippany, Piscataway, Edison, and Wayne should never have made the list IMO. I don't recall seeing any Bergen or Essex towns in there. I think its all political (PC hat still ON at moment, I am biting me tongue).
