Paterson considers 'baggy pants' ban
Another instance of lawmakers intentions gone amuk: wcbstv.com - N.J. Councilman Starts Crusade Against Saggy Pants
This has been brought up ad nauseum, but this state has far too many pressing problems to be debating an issue as insipid as this one.

That video was pretty funny, and they recently had a similar law being debated down here (to be honest, I don't recall whether it ever went to a vote). IMO, this is another case of wasting time on creating "new" laws when there are already existing laws in place to deal with the behavior. Rather than creating a "cell phone ban while driving", why couldn't we just use the existing "inattentive driving" laws to write tickets? In the same way, why can't we just use the existing "indecent exposure" laws to ticket the retards who insist on having their underwear and asses exposed? No offense to your hubby, T

LOL @ you and alex. You know what's funny? When my boys were born, I honest to goodness had this thought - "Thank GOD this baggy pants fad is in NOW, so when the boys are teenagers, it'll be something different, and not as ridiculous!"...fast forward 10 YEARS, and you STILL see it! I'm thankful my boys are pretty conservative dressers.

tahiti - There will always be some fashion or hairstyle that will annoy the living hell out of a parent. It goes with the territory!

The sad thing is, I recently puchased a pair of shorts at Costco in my usual size 34 and they were clearly marked so. I tried them on a week later and sure enough they slip right down in the new "style". I get the distinct impression that if I did any quick movement they'd be down around my ankles. I am tempted to keep them and wear them around my development. Nothing kills a fashion trend more, than having it make an appearance on a certified AARP member!
I have absolutely no fashion sense. I gave up on trying to be cool in 1968 when I got Nehru jackets for my birthday and they immediately became passe' the next day. I do think I contributed to the "grunge movement" without realizing it! I now am in the "Shoudn't you donate that to Goodwill" phase of fashion at the moment!
