Default Commute from Northern Jersey

If my husband takes a job in mid-town Manhattan, what would his commute look like from northern Bergen County? We are investigating areas like Ramsey and Ridgewood. Do any trains run directly from those areas? How long would a commute realistically take? Thanks for any info you can offer.

Train runs but not direct, he'd have to change trains in Secaucus for the NYC train (so 1+1=2 trains each way).

From Ridgewood to NYC - 45-55 min including transfer, from Ramsey add another 10 min

check out New Jersey Transit - Home for exact train schedule
