Hello everybody,
I am moving to Union, NJ in Feb and am looking for a good school for my son. He is in Kindergarten right now and will be going to 1st grade in September.
According to our appartment location he is supposed to go to the Connecticut Farms Elementary School , but I don't have a good feeling about this. This school has some really bad ratings on greatschools.com.
I will be working in Summit, so I would consider sending him to a school over there. Is that possible?
Can anybody give me some advice on how the school systhem works. I am very new to this. I won't be earing lots of money, but I would love to send him to a Catholic School.
Are there any programs for low-income single parents I could look into?
I am thankful for any kind of help.
Unfortunately, you don't get the choice of sending your kid to school in the town you work in- he's got to go to the school based on where you live. Otherwise, there would be tons of people from areas with less desirable school districts taking jobs in towns like Summit, Bridgewater, etc., just to get the better schools. It doesn't work that way- sorry.
