He was about to take down the clinton presidency when he accepted a plea bargin (a 3 year sentence, he was convicted upon multiple counts and would have served 84 years) to testify against bill and hillary clinton who were both alleged to have committed perjury about the castle grande real estate holdings.

After he was denied his heart medication, he was thrown into solitary confinement. The cell was scrubbed down within a half an hour of his death. His body was flown off the prison grounds almost immediately. 60 days after this, little rock grand jury, which was presiding over the case, expired. The other principals in the case, including mcdougal's wife, and webster hubbell, refused to testify. Without the one cooperating witness left to take them down, the clintons did (and succeeded at) what they've always done, just wait it out.

Meanwhile, the press (and the american public) were mesmerized and distracted by the "bj". While morally reprehensible, that in and of itself was not a reason to take clinton out of office. However, committing perjury to a grand jury, while under investigation of defrauding taxpayers out of $4 mil, which resulted in 40 other associated indictments, by the way, was justifiable grounds for the removal of president clinton. That is what the genesis of that entire inquest was about. And, like most other matters that require concentration and long term focus, the american people have all but forgotten about it.

oh hush!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fun thread!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hush hush hush! It is over!!!! Hush.

great thread...I had one YEARS ago, when I used to travel to Morristown every day from Newton... (good ole Rt. 15 to Rt. 80...sitting for HOURS at a time).
Anyway, I LOVED looking in my rearview to see people CRACKING up at this:

"Is that your face, or did your neck throw up?!"
=)
