Mike, I went into their HR dept. and wanted to hand them my resume (previous background in HR)and the guy at the front (lazy attitude and dumpy)said you have to apply online OR go home and do it from your computer!! WOW. Nice. I even called their HR dept to begin with and got a voicemail and never called back....new to area, blah blah,.,.inquiring about a specific pos. Not impressed...laziest HR dept. I had ever seen!

If you are getting close to retiring age, there are ALOT of adult communities in the area. If Manahawkin is a MUST, I'd suggest Atlantic Hills. Nice houses and beautiful neighborhood, but the homes all look the same.

Otherwise, Little Egg Harbor has some nice communities. Cranberry Creek and Four Seasons at Sea Oaks (On a golf course) are the best ones. They are building another Four Seasons development nearby which has AMAZING homes, check out their website. However, if you don't want all the construction going on, it wouldn't be a good place, yet. But, if you guys aren't of retiring age yet, I think The Oaks is a good place, too.

realtor.com should show them..you may have to browse through the listings and see which ones are highlighted. gsmls.com does it up this way but I don't think they cover that area?

I went onto realtor.com and I don't see where they list open houses on any of there homes. You mentioned something about looking for homes that where highlighted, how and where do you find this? Thanks, Mike.

Last I looked there wasn't an option to go to open houses in a certain area. You have to enter the zip code, the info on beds & baths plus price then look at the results. Any open houses will have a yellow bar that says open house.

Now, this is only for agents that actually pay to use it or that actually list it's an open house on the MLS sheet. If the agent doesn't do the input, you can't find it.

You can also go to sites like caldwell banker, remax, century 21, exit realty and search for open houses that way. Easiest for me was to make an account at each and get updates emailed to me

Hello Mike & Kelsie,

not sure if you've found what you are looking for but Manahawkin and adjacent town Barnegat are both very nice towns. They both offer New Construction, resales and Adult communities. I sell real estate there full-time and may be able to help. If you would like you can search my website Barnegat NJ Real Estate if you need help navigating please just contact me there.

Rick

Default Manahawkin

I live in Manahawkin. The Oaks is a section of Ocean Acres, which has "sidewalks" whereas the rest of Ocean Acres does not. It is a pretty neighborhood. All of the houses are priced pretty much the same (meaning you don't have a 2 bedroom small ranch mixed in every 4 houses)
There are other areas by Deer Lake Park, Cedar Run, and Tall Ships also.
Depending on what you are comparing your area to- Ocean Acres is nice.

Also! LBI is just 5 minutes away! Also there are marinas 5 minutes away in Barnegat if you're into Boating! We did when we moved here!
