Moving to Jersey City
Hey everyone...
I need some help. I saw a condo that I absolutely love on Harrison Avenue near Luncoln Park in Jersey City, NJ. Does anyone no if this is a good neighborhood or not? I'm a single gal and want to make sure it's a safe neighborhood for me.

I, too, am looking to move to JC. Wife and I work in NY. We both have late hours and will be coming home around 9 p.m. We need to go out and walk our small dogs and feel safe. We need to feel safe walking home from the Path. This would be our firt home purchase. We cannot afford the waterfront. Any suggestions for safe areas?

Move to Bayonne and take the Light Rail home. Much better idea than venturing anywhere past the Heights.

I live in JC heights and I feel very safe there, but the street I live on and it's surrounding area is very quiet and family oriented. I take the dollar fan to/from Journal Square and it drops me off 2 blocks from my house. I feel like in the Heights or any part of JC you really need to check out the area because it varies block by block.

All cities have their safe areas and dangerous areas. One just needs to be careful, not do anything outright dumb or obnoxious to those around you. That being said, a city such as new york city has loads of safe and not so safe areas.
I live in newark nj and like new york city, there are safe and not so safe areas.
I live in a safe area of newark between the federal courthouses and a major hospital (UMDNJ), within a safe gated development with 24 hour security to boot. I am in the process of selling my home to move closer to family as i'm starting one of my own and could use all the help i can.
That being said, please visit my home website for details on the apartment i'm selling.

Just say no to that area, move to Summit NJ, or New Providence NJ, or Chatham NJ. No matter where you move in JC or Bayonne, sure it will take you 35 minutes from Midtown but you will have a very safe and friendly environment to live in, the taxes are reasonable for New Jersey, and you can enjoy your walks with your dogs in the evening and never have to look over your shoulders.

Are the fees 1,400/month? If so, that is absurd for a 2 bed 1 bath.

paulus hook
The Paulus Hook (waterfront) area of JC is very nice if you can afford it. The Exchange Place PATH is in walking distance as well as NY Waterway ferries to NYC, and the NJ light rail. Good luck.
