Default Is Haledon a nice town for a young person?

Would you consider Haledon to be a good town for an early 20s person who has no family?

Talking about buying a property.

Its pretty affordable and from the time I spent there, it seemed ok to me?

What do you think. I looked and there was hardly any topics about Haledon

I would think its very "sleepy", too far north and too close to Paterson IMO. If I were in you shoes I would think twice about it seriously IMO. Let's have others chime in to see what they have to say.

^^^ not really, maybe Proscpet Park, but not Haledon. Question: Why do people feel that if a town shares a bordor with Paterson ( or any other urban city) that town must be "bad" or suffurs from a "spillover" I always wonder this. I know Paterson has it's rough areas, but the bad parts are mostly in the central part of the city. I have a friend who lives in Totowa ( about 3 blocks from Paterson) and if you're driving along Union Ave. and didn't know better, you wouldn't know where Paterson stops and Totowa begins.

People assume that because typically it is true. There are very few examples of "good" towns bordering inner-city towns... I'm not saying there are none, but there are plenty.

My in-laws lived in Wayne years back and even that had it's share of problems because of it's proximity to Paterson.

Fair Lawn has a similar spill over problem with Paterson.

Well Its about 15-20 minutes from where I grew up. So meeting people/finding things to do isnt so much of an issue.

How would it compare to a town like Hawthorne? I would have no problem living in a town that is similar to Hawthorne.
