Worst Day at Work EVER
Based on all the posts about the crappy job market in the state - I should be HAPPY I have A job... but man... I'm about to have those nice men in the straight jackets come and take me away today! Just needed to vent. Going back from lunch now...

Sorry to hear it....take a deep breath and the head to happy hour straight from work. That's what I'm doing.

Want company? I detest my job, but I have to hold on until the market picks back up.

Sure Hoboken Guy. Your probably a little far away though. I'm actually going to the Hackettstown Life Forum Happy Hour. We have a happy hour at a different Hackettstown area location twice a month for members of the forum to meet up in person. FYI - any day with a happy hour works for me though.

What industry are you in? Curious as to why you need to wait until the market picks up to start looking around. Even in a down market, there are lots of jobs, especially if you are in Hoboken/NYC. I haven't updated my resume in years and I have recruiters calling me ALL the time.

I am in marketing for a large factory maintenance software firm, but want to get out of the sales oriented side and head into true marketing (branding, positioning, analysis). All the calls are for sales reps (which I am not a rep, but rather a biz marketing development analyst).
If I have to make one more phone call, I might cry

LOL Hoboken guy, I feel your pain. AND I just told my boss that I'm bringing Tequila to work tomorrow. She asked if I could bring Vodka too, so at least she's on the same page as me!
It's been a rough week. I'm in benefits, in HR... I HATE HR. But I've been doing it for 16 yrs now (shudders.... I remember when I couldn't remember doing ANYTHING outside of bodily functions for 16 yrs! LOL!) So unless I want a big ol' paycut, I'm in HR for a while!
I am actually going to start looking.... the HR market is not completely dead... but I'm limited in location because of the kids school.... *sigh* what can you do?
