Thread Condo-Union City
Hello people! This is officially my first thread here about Thread condo in Union City Me and my hubby looked at 2bdr apt in the bldg last Sunday, we liked the layouts, but are concerned with 2 major things: area ( safety) and noise from Rt3. Anybody else looked there? What do you think about resale value in a few years? We def like the commute to the city. Any opinion is appreciated. Thank you.

The Thread vs....????
I visited The Thread yesterday.
Very nice building....
Nice amenities.... Seems a bit pricey, but it is new construction, with amenities, and 10 minutes to midtown NYC....
Any other thoughs?
Other new construction condos you guys could recommend in Union City?

I live nearby there. The area is fine. What kind of prices are they talking about though?

the thread...ok first off the web site is ridiculous, especially that map, it seems like whoever designed it went out of their way to highlight the businesses they deem "yuppie-friendly" and what the hell is the Gold Coast of New Jersey anyway? ...as far as noise, that's not route 3 to begin with and there isn't any noise to speak of that someone who's ever lived in a city can't deal with...safety-wise, i doubt you'll be doing too much of anything in union city anyway, all the "urban pioneers" i've seen lately use union city as a bedroom community in between excursions to work, play, dine, and shop in nyc, a lot of you even say you live in nyc, but anyway back to the point, you will be surrounded by hispanics, and believe me we know who you are, all we ask for is respect and consideration just like any other neighbors anywhere else would..if you don't look for trouble, you'll be ok

New luxury condo building in Union City called Altessa
Just heard about another condo building in Union City called Altessa (www.altessanj.com). It's a 15-story building with 100 condo residences. They claim to have "magnificent New York City skyline views and exceptional amenities including a landscaped rooftop deck with a swimming pool." Sales are supposed to start in January, with prices starting at $310,000. Anyone know anything about it?

let's see, the altessa, a bodega on one corner, a liquor store on the other, a dominican barber shop across the street, a 24 hour laundromat around the corner, and a block away from a high school that will hold 2500 to 3000 kids...i wouldn't wanna live on that block
