Default Looking at a place in Boonton

I'm looking to rent a place in Boonton with my husband. We are trying to find a place that's affordable since we want to save for a home. I'm not from the area so I'm curious about the safety. If I come home at night I don't want to worry about walking to the apartment. Can anyone tell me what the they of the area? We are looking at a place on Main Street.

I don't live in Boonton but I know people who do and they even do shift work so come home at odd hours and such and they have never said anything about not feeling safe.

Boonton Town is adorable..and for the most part, very safe..well except for one dive near the bridge..just steer clear of that at night. Go for it..you'll love it! Great little town.

Thanks for the replies. The place I'm looking at is right on Main next to the train station. Is that okay?

It'll be a bit noisy.... not the best side of town. Nothing closer to the park side or up the hill?

I don't mind the noise so much. It was the only place we saw. I like it but I'm a little concerned. Do you think it's not worth it? Should I look somewhere else? I like the apartment and it's a good price.

If you don't mind the noise...then it should be fine. Boonton is no where near the likes of JC or Newark! It's a great little town.

Thanks for the help. I thought the area was cute but after driving around the neighborhood, I had some second thoughts. It doesn't have to be perfect. My main concern when I come home at night I want to feel safe walking from my car since there is off street parking.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Put it this way..there's a gay bar down the road and if any hoodlems (sp) were looking to pick on someone, they'ld hit that first and they never do. Very safe area.
