Luckily I did not pay for township community pool fees this year. I wanted to take the family out to beaches more instead of relying on going to the community pool. Now I am reading all kinds of problems with people demanding refunds or usage of community pools immediately. NJ has not stated when they will open up and the message is that it can open in May, June, or July nobody knows... People's patience running out, no answer from township park officials, and no guidance from the Governor. Because these are outdoor pools and not indoor any delay means you're getting less and no message about refunds or extensions of summer or annual passes.

As of now we are not joining our town pool. Only 1 of my 3 kids really really used it a lot last year. If things get much better maybe will join later on but not right away

Ours haven't opened and may not until later on, they just sent out a survey about what people would want.

We signed up very early in the year because my boys wanted to swim competitively this year. That worked out well. /s

Due to covid, not only do we not have answers, the construction on the pool has been delayed. Even if it's decided that they can open, it will be mid-July at the earliest before the pool is done.

Luckily, the community pool in PA decided just yesterday to open, and they called for volunteers to go help get the cover off and clean the grounds tonight. With online school, we may decide to spend the end of the school year out there.

I didn't the corona-virus could swim?

https://www.yahoo.com/news/pretty-sa...153000849.html

It's pretty safe to swim in a pool during the coronavirus pandemic. Just avoid the locker room and keep moving.

Water itself is quite safe from the coronavirus, especially if it's properly treated with chlorine.

But you could still catch or spread the illness if you're clustering around others above water, on the pool deck, or in the locker room.

To reduce your risk, keep swimming, try to maintain distance from others while you do so, and avoid the locker room.

Just because you're unlikely to catch the coronavirus while swimming, be aware of other pathogens and the risk of sunburn.

The problem is the lack of guideline from the state, all they needed to do was make specific guidelines for parks, pools, and summer camps. Many towns and the state didn't think it through when they issued lockdowns. I think haircut places shouldn't open but pools and outdoor recreational places should with guidelines.

In Asia, they don't have a lockdown order. People wore masks to go out to work and businesses remain open. Infection rates as a nation such as Korea is less than NYC. It goes to show that people who follow the PPE and have testing and quarantine orders is effective than locking down the whole city and state.

Ugh!!! They pulled the cover off the pool Thursday night. I thought they were going to be open next weekend, but then their FB page said they're still "waiting for guidance". What?!! Gov. Wolf said it was up to the communities whether they wanted to open the pools.

How about this novel idea: if you don't think it's safe to go to the pool, don't go. For anyone else, have at it. Heck, I'll even sign a waiver saying I understand there is still a risk and I won't hold the pool responsible for any illness or injury.

Didn’t they just issue lockdown orders in Seoul 2 days ago? I thought parks, schools and other places are closed now for a couple of weeks. How is it not a lockdown order? I know they have better tracing equalling greater control but that adds another layer of govt intervention.

They lockdown after reopening goes to show how easy it is to spread the virus even when they have a small spike compared to us. They don't take chances like America, the min they collect data that showed infections going up they take action immediately.

Maybe I’m confused - didn’t you write that they don’t need lockdown rules and now they have lockdown rules?
