No problem with Home Owners Ins. in this area. My son pays under a thousand a year. He and I are in about 25 to 30 miles from New Smyrna Beach. If you live on the coast your talking 7 grande a year. And Insurance companies are dropping those people like flies!

Everyone has their own choice where they want to live. I lived in South Beach for two years back in 78 to 80 and could not wait to come back to Florida. I finally did three years ago. Clean air...a beautiful winter with 75 degree temps and no heat or AC...absolutely beautiful breezes being not so far in from the beach! Twenty minutes over to the beach! Soooo much to do in this state and to see! Back in Jersey there is nothing to do except go into Manhattan, Broadway shows or out to dinner! Not here....you are out and about all over seeing different sites! Cape Canaveral is only an hour away...West Coast is three hours over to Tampa and St. Pete. St. Augustine is only an hour away. Daytona has the races and is 40 min. away and a trip to Disney is an hour! I would never move back to Jersey! But I do miss my family! Another plus is that this area has rolling hills! With a Jersey feel! From Dec. to March you get to wear some winter clothes here...like a nice sweater and paid of boots!

I mean its still a nice town but just expensive and out of control spending. I would not anywhere in Bergen county unless I took the train to NY or made big bucks. Its convient thats it. I found Hillsdale where we lived and sold the house very convient to shop and walk to things, but my taxes were out of control and I saw no end in sight. These other counties really dont rape you as much but your driving farther so it kinda again is a trade off I see.

Paramus is super corrupt. They have so many pending lawsuits just against the PD now, I expected taxes would be absurd.
I love Hillsdale! What county are you in now?
