We closed!!
Hi! Thank you all so much for your help these last few months during our house hunt and closing. All in all I think we're pretty lucky. We decided to think about buying a house in NJ on March 27th and as of tomorrow we'll be all moved in to our new house.
The house is in Hazlet near Union Avenue and I can't wait to get to know the area. We already met our next door neighbor who said to let him know if we need help moving in. I have lived in my apartment in Brooklyn for 10+ years and I know the first names of exactly 3 people in the building. I think I can get used to friendly living real quick! And I can't believe the stores and the parking. We don't really have anyplace great to shop. The independent stores here are nice but I can't wait to go to Michael's and Pier 1. And there's a Ralph's Ice!!!
I've lived in Brooklyn all of my 38 years (except for college) so it might be an adjustment, but from what I've seen so far we're going to be really happy!
Now I guess I'll be pestering you all for directions and home improvement tips. Ooh, and restaurant recommendations!
Thanks again.

Hazlet's nice, and centrally located to the NJTPK and the Parkway. There's the Adelphia diner right over there... beautiful place to eat.
If you want to know about more places in the area, pick up a copy of "Night and Day" magazine. It's a freebie that focuses on the bar scene, but you can get some info on good local restaurants.

Long Branch is an up and coming area and it's a nice area to hang out plus you are close to the shores too.

Congrats on your move to HAzlet. Right next store to Ralph's is a great bagel place and there is also Romeo's Pizza in the same shopping center. Enjoy Hazlet!
