I need to send my 18 month old daughter to a child care center for 5 days a week (full time). Any idea how good/bad the YMCA child care center on Oak tree Rd, Edison, NJ is?
Delphi I spoke with my friend today - she used to work at the Y and her children went there. She said that she and the children were very happy there. Her eldest even went back a few days a week after she left because she really missed her friend and teachers.
Since my friend worked there, she was litterally popping in and out all day and she said everything always seemed fine.
Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll ask her.

Very helpful.. sorry it wouldn't let me give u reps.
I figured out by sending my 1.5 yrs old. They want you baby to be 101% independent in eating/drinking/sleeping. They asked us to fill the forms about child's habit/nature/liking/disliking and what not, which we did.
Looks like they don't even care to look at those forms, forget about baby-care. If the baby needs little bit of padding, once or twice, during 2 hrs sleep-time, they think that is unusual and won't do.
They want 19 months to behave like 19 yrs old.
What a smart people they are! Shame on them that they work at the Day Care even being the smartest people in the whole world. They should work in rocket science field. I am thinking of looking for another one.
Thanks for that. But they are always booked. You have be on the waiting list for long unknown span of time, unless you are lucky.
Too bad but from my experience, I would get on the waiting list. A lot of times people who are on the list aren't always ready when the spot becomes available. When that happens, they keep going down the list until they find someone who is ready. You never know how you might luck out... I've seen it happen many times.
Good luck!
