KLML is on a distinguished road
I used to work in Maplewood but had to travel past Irvington HS and I was scared to death. It is the worst town and I would have to admit that even though Newark and Paterson are bad, Irvington is worse. I just can't believe a town could get so bad.

It's so frustrating. A quaint town of close-nit middle income and blue collar workers, gets turned into a cesspool because of an unsavory element.

The one thing I don't get is when you have people say that it's bad because it's poor. I never understood why poor equates to filth and drugs. I mean since when do you have to be rich to be clean and pick up garbage and pick weeds?

p.s. I grew up poor 7th of 9 kids.

You are so right. I don't think that being poor = these things, but I think that communities that are poor get the shaft. I really believe most people living in poor communities are decent, but they are not going to get the better services because their voice does not get heard.

No, closed down months ago. There are a few in other areas of NJ, but not as good. JMO

2005 was the last time I went and the original guy was still making sandwiches. There were about 8 people there for lunch and everyone grew up in Irvington. We all talked about the memories of good ole' Irvington and when leaving Buffs, everyone you came in contact with said, "I smell Jimmy Buffs." lol
