Default Cape May

We spent this past weekend in Cape May, at a Victorian bed and breakfast inn. What a BEAUTIFUL town that is! I hadn't been there since childhood, when I could not appreciate all the outstanding architecture and history. What an experience...I highly recommend for both families AND couples looking for a romantic getaway. Cape May is really a treasure.

I agree-Cape May is wonderful. We were there for a few days last week.

Did you get to the lighthouse? How about the bunker? I love the old war bunker- I think that is neat.

Did you go to the Diamond beach.........
Its an area where you go out to the beach, find a gem...........take it to the cute little store that is there and they will tumble it, and make a piece of jewelry for you.
Or there are some ready made pieces.
The kids think they have found a lost treasure, and they love the whole idea.
Actually, I loved the adventure too!

Love, love, love Cape May.... but like many things in NJ - it is REDICULOUSLY over priced - especially "in" season.

We rode bikes to Sunset Beach and we were hoping to get a glimpse of the Lighthouse, but did not. We basically relaxed, saw the pedestrian mall, shopped a little, and ate at great restaurants. I didn't find it to be THAT expensive actually...maybe I am used to New York City and Jersey City prices. In fact, one night we ate at a very nice restaurant and I expected higher prices, but they were quite reasonable.

The Inns are absurd now. Even the motels are outrageously priced during the summer.

You know, I saw that you can start getting some good deals on condos in Wildwood now, there are over 1,000 on the market - did you see that article in the record?

I did not see that article. But condos down the shore don't really interest me. If I'm going to buy something down the shore, it will be a house (and I'm hoping to do that sooner rather than later). Plus, Wildwood is too far from North NJ for a summer home. I like Pt Pleasant, Sea Girt, Spring lake, Mantoloking.

I'd opt for a condo down the shore, if I'm ever so lucky. But you are right about the distance, unless gas prices come down drastically.
