If you don't want points, plead unsafe operation. You'll have to pay more to the town and state, but your insurance company won't find out.

Oh, they are out in force. I have been taking my son to summer camp every morning all summer. In the 3 miles I drive each way, I have seen an average of 4 tickets a day all written on local Roads. One of them (W Hanover Ave) the cops sure do not seem to care that they back-up traffic like crazy blocking a whole lane every time they have someone pulled over. All so they can collect the tax money that the state government cut out of the local aid.
The maddening thing is that even though i have not gotten a ticket i will be paying for this as well. There have been so many tickets written in my zip code that it is a sure thing that the insurance companies will be raising the rates for everyone who lives here.
Why can't they just fight crime and leave the common person alone.

The conspiracy is that many of these towns are out to make up for the funds the state will not be giving them this year. Traffic tickets are taxes to them, if not these towns would be strictly forbiden to use any of that money for anything and have to turn it all over to the state.

There was a time not too long ago when the cops would give you a warning for a minor traffic offense. Those days are long gone in the area where I live. Now if you get pulled over you're sure to get a ticket. I agree that the towns are making up for lost revenue from the state. There are also many more speed traps now than I can ever remember in the past. It's all about the money.

In my town here in Northern NJ I've seen A HUGE INCREASE in police pullovers and tickets given in the past two years. Being I walk A LOT I see this in "full color" everyday.

Look my friends. Because of the high gas prices we all have slowed down some. At least a little bit right? Gotta save some money where ever we can. The fact that as a whole everyone slowed down, there are less tickets given out. The towns/cities/municapalities are losing money on less revenue from less tickets and less revenue from less gas taxes we are paying because we are buying less gas.
This blitz of hungry donut wolves is an order given by your local towns. They gotta raise some money so they can give themselves a much deserved raise this year. They haven't had a raise since last year. Dontcha feel sorry for them? Driving around in air conditioned comfy cars all day doing nothing? That's real hard work ya know. Besides, I hear McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts are abandoning their free breakfast to cops programs forever. Thems fighting words say the cops. I seen a bumper sticker on the back of a cop car the other day that had a Dunkin Donuts and a McDonalds emblem and the words "This means revenge, we want our free breakfast".
