Thanks for the link Wiley, can't rep you again...
Williamstown I'm finding is a town where they will pull you over for anything. My 1st time out, had no clue where I was going (looking for Target, thought it was on the road I was on) when I noticed a cop behind me. I decided to go right to let him pass. This idiot pulls me over for seat belt. I explained to him I just moved here, was at the school to register my daughter (who was with me) and that I must have forgot to put it back on when I got in the car. He didn't give a crap; came back & handed me a ticket. I said, wow, welcome to the neighborhood, he said yes ma'am .
Hubby went out 2 days ago, they had a seat belt/DMV check by the bypass.
FWIW, I was listening to 101.5 the other day for a few minutes and caught part of a conversation where they said one town was trying to pass pulling over cars to give tickets for back seat passengers that don't have their seat belt on.
They then talked about Corzine, his accident & how he wasn't wearing a seat belt, he made sure he asked for a ticket. I actually wonder if he would have been hurt worst had he been wearing it. I'm so sick of people telling me what I have to do. It should be my choice as an adult if I want to wear a seat belt or not.

I use to never wear my seatbelt but with the cars out today..you have no choice.."bing, bing, bing!" I guess it's a good thing although I know plenty of people who's lives were saved because they didn't have a seatbelt on... I'm sure the stats are the same if not higher for people who did have it on and it saved their lives but I'm with you..it should be a personal choice...for adults - mandatory for kids .

No question for kids, agree with that. I wish more people would get pulled over for not having their kids buckled in. Where I used to live, people would jump in the car to run to Acme, most kids didn't have belts on

How about cell phones. Sit outside of the whole foods in ridgewood and you could pop 100 bucks on every car that leaves the parking lot

I wish more local and state political types would stop thinking that we the people of New Jersey need them to baby sit us, and stop thinking of us as just a revenue source no matter how they get it.
For G@& sake they need to do less with much much less. We don't need people on the payroll for some of the stupid things local political types push. In one of the local towns I know of they have a person on staff with a Ford Explorer city car, who's only job it is to go around and issue tickets for the cities sign ordinances which are more than America land of the free strict. Last month this SOB gave tickets to a couple of the local churches for using signs to promote events they have been doing every year for 100 years or more. If you look at the numbers this person sucks up about 100K in pay, benefits, city car, and then when she retires she will continue to be a drain on the tax payers. Who needs this crap.
I would love to see a taxpayer revolt in this state.

There are also many more speed traps now than I can ever remember in the past. It's all about the money.

I dunno...I got pulled over a few weeks ago speeding and they let me off with a warning. Could be it was because it was a local cop not state trooper I suppose.

I know JB. It is sickening how we are losing our Liberty. If that idiot was earning $100K then you can be sure he was handing out many many more dollars in fake fines then his salary. How does that guy sleep at night? Then again I always wonder how cops sleep at night after extorting our hard earned money from us.
