Default Highlands Ferry - what time parking lot fills up

Hey there - I'm moving from New York to Monmouth County and will be taking the Highlands (Connors) ferry to NYC (I'm looking to take the 8:00 one). I know there's complimentary parking and that it is on a first come, first serve basis . . . my question is - is there anyone who takes it now and knows what time the lot fills up by, esp. for 8:00 a.m. departure? Also, any other options in terms of parking if it does fill up (i.e. street parking, adjacent parking lot)? Thank you in advance

I went fishing there last Friday, and we pulled into the lot at around 7:15 and it was already full. But that the main lot for the ferry, there was an adjacent lot and there were plenty of spots. Hope this helps.
