Nope...it doesn't matter what your mailing address is...but what town you're ACTUALLY located in.

I lived in Lawrenceville not that long ago. I would be very very careful where you live.
The southern half is a no-go. The northern half is fine. However, they do bus children around the district (at least they did, not sure now) so you may want to look into that and see if you like that.
Many of the children that live in the pricier homes do go to private schools.
The gang problems in the HS are getting worse.
I would really think long and hard about the direction the town is heading. I think it is a great town and parts are so pretty. I love how close it is to Princeton.
However, with children, we had to leave. I didn't like what was going on and I didn't think it was going to improve.

All the high schools in this area are developing gang problems, not just Lawrenceville. I think the town could be heading in a better direction...but more citizens need to get involved. The town council is very interested in getting businesses back in the southern half...they've already started with the Trent Motel site. That being said...citizens ARE NOT involved. I went to the town council meeting recently and there was only 3 other people there!

Once again... There is no bad spot in LawrenceVILLE.... It is a borough on the northeast end of Lawrence Township, which borders trenton

I lived in Lawrenceville and worked in Princeton for 15 years before we moved out of the area, and both areas have a gang problem. Neither is as bad as Trenton, but Princeton is better then Lawrenceville. We lived on Smithfield Ave (3 blocks from the HS) for 9 years, and had no problems. I'm not sure how the housing market is now, but we sold our house for $336,000 last march.

Dave... I looked up your street. You did not live in LawrenceVILLe... you lived in lawrence but had a lawrenceville address. Heres more from wikipedia, and check the map I included from above, lawrenceville is a good 5 miles from t-town...

Area residents often refer, incorrectly, to all of Lawrence Township as Lawrenceville. The confusion over the township's name is partly caused by the fact that the local Post Office is located in Lawrenceville.

Straight from wikipedia you can it out yourself! I dont live in Lawrenceville but I realize its one of the safest towns in NJ.

You're right JIP, I did live in "Lawrence Township" and not "Lawrenceville", but I doubt the gang members know the difference between the two. : )

And the PO I used was on Rt 1, in Lawrence Township.
