Calm down, brah. IIRC, I've never pulled a u-turn in NJ without it being illegal which is completely legal in other states. Why can't they fix this?
U-turns and left turns aren't the same thing. A jughandle seems like a safer and more organized option to me than just turning around (a u-turn) in the middle of a street or intersection. Why do you care so much anyway? You don't even live here anymore. Go worry about LA traffic and stuff your current state can fix and quit worrying about ours.
Once again, there are U-turns as well. Rt. 10 and 46 intersection in Ledgewood has a U turn from the left lane. Rt. 10 and Hillside Avenue in Succasunna has a U-turn. Those two are withing a mile or so of each other.
Lol. My old GPS tried to get me to go the wrong way on a one-way street.
I once had a GPS tell me to cross RR tracks in a place where the dead-end street did not have a RR crossing, and was blocked with a huge, seemingly permanent blockade. However, I have never seen a GPS that did not know about the presence of jughandles and that did not direct you how to negotiate a jughandle.
Yes -- jughandles exist in other states. The issue is WHY NJ is so stubborn does not for allow left turns in any intersection. It just seems off.
There are left hand turns as well as jug handles on rt 42/ Black Horse Pike; you would not believe how backed up it gets where the left turns are. I'll take a jug handle any day!

This is also a big problem. At left turn only lanes, it can take multiple cycles for you to finally make a left.
Yet try to tell me density/population isn't a factor here.

Density and population certainly are, but I'd argue it's low to moderate density that is the problem. New York fits 8 million people in just 5 counties. NJ has too many people commuting from detached housing developments to sprawling office parks.

Maybe they should put in more over passes lol
