I'm curious about why Washington Township should be avoided - been looking around that area for a possible move in a year or so - I thought the high school had a decent reputation and the area seems nice.

which washington? Warren Co. or Morris Co.? The latter is the better of the 2 but the other isn't bad either.

Twp is better than the boro. I looked at house over that way a few years back..some great bargains! Where do you have to commute to? Some areas can be off the beaten track for commuting.

we're working in the Teaneck - Englewood area - close to the GW Bridge - don't want to commute that far everyday - that's why we're waiting until we retire to move.

That would be a brutal commute! I see they have a bunch of 55 plus communities out this way...seem to be popping up all over the place. Are you looking at those or single family?

Looking for single family - definitely not 55+ - however, we thought we had sold our townhouse and just got a message from our realtor that the deal fell through - total bummer - sometimes I think we'll be here forever.

That really stinks! Did she say why? Where are you selling a townhouse? I see a bunch of people in here looking for townhouses... maybe try listing it in the classified section?

Hi I saw your posts dated 2008 about Hackettstown. We want to move back to NJ from Houston, TX and Hackettstown is a possible location. What are your thoughts about Htown these days? Any info would be much appreciated.
