tahiti - I think a lot of the time they are only referring to men for the 10% figure. I'm pretty much a complete lefty. I also have beautiful handwriting, I used to say I taught Palmer how to write ( you have to be a "certain age" to remember those stupid penmanship books from grammar school - the old Palmer method)! People told me "you write like a girl! I dial (remember dial phones?) right-handed and hold the phone with my left hand. I also play guitar like a righty. Reversing the strings and holding those chord books up to the mirror was too much work! It didn't feel "right" (no pun intended, anyway). Maybe I should have learned lefty like Paul McCartney and Jimmy Hendrix - I could've afforded to still live in Jersey if I had played my cards "right"! Oh, for that nice estate in Alpine!

I write left, punch righty, kick righty, tennis right, makes for a good backhand since I bat lefty, throw right... I also catch right, doesn't work that well. I am awful at guitar and play that righty. I wear a watch on my right arm, and my wedding band on my right (not left) ring finger. Eat left handed (this is "proper" in France I think!) and mouse right. All in all it doesn't matter much since I've forgotten how to hand write since all I do is type, and the only sport I do is cycling and both of my legs are strong But i definitely consider myself left handed. I could not begin to write right handedly,or is it right handed.

i remember being at the dentist once and watching the hygienist. i asked her "could a left handed person be a hygienist?" i think i'm the only one to ever ask that before, lol. she said they'd probably have to work for a left handed dentist with the opposite setup . interesting. don't know if it's true, but a lefty hygienist could cause a lot of damage working the way things are normally set up, lol.
I'll have to ask the wife about this, for this is her living (dental hygienist).
