Default move from CA to NJ

Hi, we are going to move from Northern CA to NJ. Office will be in Franklin lakes, Bergen County. Any suggestions for housing (+/- $700.000)(max 45 min. from office), good schools, nice areas to live with kid (rather not in busy cities).
Thanks

Default irm35 - I'm originally from Northern Cal; now in NJ

tell me exactly where you are in NCal now and I will try to give you some descriptions of towns in NJ based on where you are living now.

Smile Bergen County towns

Grew up in Ridgewood, great family town. If $$ were no issue for me I'd be back there raising my kids. But $700K will buy you a great house in town. Schools are top notch and the downtown shopping area has wonderful shops, restaurants, etc. To Franklin Lakes a commute would be about 20 minutes. Actually worked there (FL) for a few years myself. Other great towns around would be Glen Rock, Midland Park, Wyckoff, but none have the great downtown atmosphere that Ridgewood has. Good luck!

thanks janeyc.
I live in Sacramento County, Old Fair Oaks village. Old neighbourhood, lots of trees, close by river and bike trail.
