Need park ideas for NW Jersey
Gave up on taking the family into the city. Too much hassle for kids that young till they can walk all day on their own.
Between my 2 jobs I have my first Saturday free since…. uh,?last year?
Need park ideas to take the family. We did whatever that state park is near Tuttles Corner on Fathers Day. (Not High Point. The one S of it)
Kid friendly. Not an amusement park. Something to do on a sunny day. 10 bucks a car admission fine. With upcoming oil bills its gotta be fairly inexpensive...

Try this site..some great state parks throughout NW Jersey. Swatzwood might be fun for the kids..you can rent paddle boats, sail boats, etc.

I like Nomahegan Park in Cranford (it's not NW NJ though, right?) But my kids love it there. There is a pond with geese and ducks, an extensive palyground with swings for big and small, walking trails. It's very nice there.
Also, it doesn't cost anything to park the car.

Try Worthington. It's the Delaware Water Gap. Nice place to hike, picnic, etc. There's also Van Saun (sp?) in Bergen County. Suppposedly very nice, large park. I think it has a train ride, petting zoo, etc. Or you can try the Skylands I think it's called, up in Sussex County.

Ahh...davenj08 gave me another idea..Merrill's Creek in Washington or is that Asbury? Down Rt. 57 in Warren County. Nice walk around the creek..hiking trails..little beach plus they have a nature museum thingy. Plus I think it's free as well!

I like it too. We took my niece there several times and had a blast.
