Default Commuting from Glen Rock vs. Tenafly

We are thinking of moving either to Glen Rock or Tenafly. Any perspective on commuting to mid town would be very helpful.

I know there is no train from Tenafly but how feasible is the bus to Port Authority? And is there a viable option to commute across the GW bridge? How long does that take.

I am hesitant about Glen Rock because not only one has to switch trains in Secaucus but if I am going to East Side, I will have to take two subway lines in Manhattan (which makes commuting from Glen Rock almost 1.5 hours).

Please advise.

Switch in Secaucus? Big deal.

Why not stay in or move to NYC itself. This will serve you better perhaps? yes/no? The grass isn't always greener in Bergen Co.

Do not take the buses from Tenafly to PA terminal, you will be stuck in hella traffic

You could take the Rockland Coaches to the GWB Terminal, and then take the A train downtown

Default Moved to Glen Rock from Tenafly

One of the reasons we moved to Glen Rock from Tenafly, was the commuting options into midtown. The train in Glen Rock (there are 2 lines, the bergen line and the main line) takes 45 minutes door to door. The bus in Tenafly (that is the only option directly into midtown) was taking about 75 - 90 minutes.
